At our winery, our Vernaccia is offered as an expression of freshness and longevity. It’s the ideal accompaniment to traditional Tuscan dishes, but also excels with raw fish, white meats, and medium-aged cheeses (such as Pecorino Toscano).
Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG is also the pride of our red-dominated region, as well as the first DOC awarded in Italy in 1966.
The character of this “aristocratic” Tuscan white…
Vine variety: 100% Vernaccia di San Gimignano. Our interpretation focuses on purity to enhance the inextricable bond between grape and terroir.
Terroir: Produced exclusively from our vineyards overlooking San Gimignano, where the soils are composed of yellow sands and gray clays of Pliocene origin, rich in marine fossils that give the wine its distinctive signature: savory flavor.
Sensory Profile:
Appearance: Pale straw yellow with golden highlights that intensify with aging
Nose: Fine and delicate bouquet; notes of white flowers and citrus give way to a characteristic hint of bitter almond and flint with age
Taste: Dry, harmonious, and savory. The minerality gives it a great structure, capable of a surprising evolution in the bottle for a white wine.
Tasting Pairings: Excellent as an aperitif, it also pairs beautifully with traditional Tuscan dishes such as ribollita and saffron-based dishes.
